The Stamps Quartet had its original beginnings in 1924 in the State of Texas, Upshur County. The Stamps Quartet's original founders were V.O. Stamps and Frank Stamps, Gilmer, TX.
The Stamps Quartet was the first Gospel quartet to sing on KRLD Radio, Dallas, Texas - with the daily noon broadcast as well as a Sunday morning broadcast.
October 9, 1927, the Stamps Quartet recorded "Give The World A Smile", and became the first professional, Gospel quartet to record for a major recording label, RCA Victor.
The Stamps Quartet was the first professional quartet to sell over "one million" copies of a Gospel quartet song.
